Hispanic Heritage Network Artist Meet and Greet

Hispanic Heritage Network Artist Meet and Greet

I was invited to attend an artist meet and greet event on Wednesday August 28th, My painting, “La Catrina de las Mariposas”, had been selected as one of only 20 artworks in Florida to be displayed for the 2024 Hispanic Heritage Art Exhibit in Orange County.  My painting was chosen to be displayed at the Orange County Admin Center, which is the Orlando’s Mayor’s office.  This year the meet and greet was hosted by Mather’s Social Gathering, one of the coolest bars in downtown Orlando.  The dress code was “cocktail attire”…I don’t normally do cocktail attire, so I had to do a little shopping.  My wife also got herself a gorgeous little black dress, which looked amazing on her.

The evening was amazing.  We started off with some incredible cocktails, and the hors d’oeuvres were so good!  I had to stop myself from constantly raiding the snack table.  We met the organizers of the event as well as some fellow Mexicanos, who tracked me down because I was apparently the only Mexican artist at the event.

It was truly an honor to be part of this, and I am humbled by the response I received.  When I had originally found out about this exhibit, I didn’t really give it much thought, but I am happy to be part of it and will hopefully continue to work with the Hispanic Heritage Network.
